Kaba IT-Rack Lever

The benefit of the Kaba IT-Rack Lever is the identified, authorized opening of IT cabinets. The IT-Rack Lever consists of control electronics and an IEG or TS 8 handle with integrated Legic reader. The IEG handle, by virtue of using adapter plates, universally fits the IT cabinets from all leading manufacturers. The TS 8 handle is available for Rittal TS cabinets.

Depending on whether one or two doors of an IT-Rack are to be secured, the Kaba IT-Rack Lever can be supplied in two versions. In Version 1, a complete IEG or TS 8 handle can be connected; in the 2nd version, the connection of 2 complete handles is possible.

Use as CardLink component:

The Kaba IT-Rack Lever offers the comfortable and low-cost solution of the linking of components of online access control with the digital stand-alone components by means of a virtual network to form an integrated security solution.

The function:
The Legic medium, normally a badge, is held in front of the reader that is integrated in the handle; the authorization information is read and forwarded to the control electronics. This is where the interpretation of the data content with regard to the time stamp and the authorization profiles is done. Based on this validation, the Kaba IT-Rack Lever decides for itself whether access authorization exists. If the check for authorization is positive, a green LED lights up briefly; a short beep tone is then emitted and the solenoid in the handle then releases the door. After an invalid booking, for example because the time profile has expired, the beeper is activated in alternation for three seconds and the IT cabinet remains closed.

The fill level of the event memory (threshold value) is written back on the Legic medium in accordance with the CardLink functionality. Where necessary, the updating of time, addresses and profiles is done via the CardLink programmer.

Within the Kaba elolegic system family, it allows IT cabinets to be integrated into a stand-alone access system without expensive wiring.
